New Year in Moscow. 360° trailer in 8K
Traditionally, Moscow is transformed before the New Year. Sparkling Christmas trees, shining garlands, and fairy-tale characters appear on the streets and squares.
The tradition of decorating the city arose during the time of Peter the Great. Streets and squares where festive celebrations and fairs took place were always especially decorated. Garlands were hung on them, lanterns with candles were placed, and ice sculptures were installed.
The largest New Year's fair opens on Red Square. Every New Year, it envelops residents and guests of the capital in a festive atmosphere. On Nikolskaya Street, you can see the longest garland: if you stretch it out in one line, you will get 92 kilometers!
Thanks to sparkling tiaras, openwork arches-bracelets and a huge Christmas tree in gold and silver toys, Theater Square in front of the Bolshoi Theater becomes one of the most beautiful squares in Moscow. Of course, it is impossible to imagine the New Year without festive fir trees decorated with colorful toys and garlands.
One of the most beautiful fir trees is installed at the entrance to the Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure. The light installation will definitely not leave anyone indifferent.
New Year is not only festive lights, but also an opportunity to participate in traditional Russian winter fun, such as horse-drawn sleigh rides.
And, of course, New Year is the time when you want to believe in a good fairy tale, and it invites you to visit! The Moscow estate of Father Frost is just such a place. It is located in Moscow, in Kuzminki Park.
One of the favorite New Year installations among Muscovites is the fabulous light composition "Polar Bears" or, as it is also called, "Umka", located in the "Aqueduct" park in the north-east of the city, next to VDNKh. The two main exhibits of the composition are very reminiscent of the characters from the cartoon "Umka".
The illuminated arches on Tverskaya Square, symbolizing the Hermitage, are the largest in Moscow. The height is almost 20 meters!Tverskoy Boulevard is the most magical place in the city, where you can see amazing gingerbread houses in which cartoon and fairy tale characters live.
Light tunnels are the most visited New Year's installations in the city. There are most of them on the Boulevard Ring. One of the most beautiful is the pink tunnel on Nikitsky Boulevard. And the largest, with the romantic name Northern Lights and a length of 200 meters, is installed near the Tverskaya metro station.
Moscow is a city where everyone can find a source of festive mood for themselves!
